About

LFS 400 began in 2006 as AGSC 490, a partnership with the UBC Graduate School of Journalism. It was co-created by Dr. Andrew Riseman, Kathryn Gretsinger, Dr. Cyprien Lomas and Duncan McHugh with the goal of uniting Journalism students with students in the Faculty of Land and Food Systems, part of a larger project entitled PEPI: Prototype of an Educational Podcasting Infrastructure, led by Mark Schneider.

Over the years, it has evolved into an audio storytelling class addressing issues within the Land and Food Systems domain, but open to all UBC students. Currently, it is co-taught by Duncan McHugh and  Dr. Juli Carillo (and from 2017-2019 with Dr. Will Valley).
