Chinatown is undergoing rapid changes to its landscape and, consequently, to its long-established local food system. The forces of gentrification are increasingly pushing out the neighbourhood’s greengrocers—some of the most affordable fresh fruit and vegetable vendors in the city. What kind of dialogue and planning is going on, on the part of the community organizers and municipal planners, to address this food security issue? How are different stakeholders finding ways to tackle this food justice challenge?
